The combination of her extensive training and clinical experience allows her to flexibly implement interventions from different therapy approaches to tailor each session to your unique needs and find the right fit for you.
Fit is essential for successful therapy, as a psychologist can only be effective if they truly understand you. Nienke is dedicated to ensuring you feel heard, respected, understood and safe to share your vulnerabilities and emotional experiences. She brings honesty, transparency, and warmth, along with a touch of humour to support her clients’ growth.
Her objective is to create a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental environment. With a collaborative approach and focus on strengths, she supports her clients on their path of coping with difficulties and creating a life consistent with their values, hopes and dreams.
Despite having working experience in a wide range of mental health issues, Nienke has a particular interest and expertise in working with adolescents and (young) adults with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Also, she has extensive experience in supporting children, adolescents and their parents, and adults with neurodiversity (ADHD & ASD), anxiety, and OCD.
Besides sessions in English, she can also provide sessions in Dutch.
Outside of work, Nienke loves to be physically active by going for runs, playing tennis, riding her bicycle, and hiking, and she is determined to become a good surfer one day! Connected to their proven benefits to mental health, she incorporates strategies to also help her clients with healthy lifestyle changes. Her travel experience and having lived in multiple countries allow her to explore and connect with diverse backgrounds and cultures, which is reflected in her passion for working with people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds, as well as from all walks of life. She also values strong social connections and enjoys spending a lot of her spare time with friends and family.
