Dr. Sheri Todd (Ph.D.)

Registered Clinical Psychologist

Children ages 5+ up and parents

Sheri is a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and families feel understood, supported, and empowered. With a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Child Specialisation) from the University of Melbourne and more than 15 years of experience in child and adolescent mental health, she brings a calm, thoughtful, and collaborative approach to her work.

Sheri has worked in private practice, as well as across hospital, community, training, and research settings, including the Royal Children’s Hospital, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Melbourne Medical School, and the Austin Hospital Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). She has also engaged in grassroots volunteer work in South America, supporting babies and children in hospital, orphanage, and rural school settings.

Sheri is skilled in assessing and treating complex presentations and offers therapy to clients experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, parent-child relational difficulties, OCD, self-harm, conduct disorders, bullying, social skills, and school refusal. She is committed to understanding each child within the context of their development, family, school, and broader environment and draws on evidence-based approaches while ensuring therapy feels safe, engaging, and tailored to the child’s individual needs. In session, she often uses play and art-based activities, as well as blending aspects of cognitive-behavioural, interpersonal, and psychodynamic therapies. She encourages her clients to develop a clear understanding of their experience, to have self-compassion, and to learn long-lasting, proactive emotion regulation and coping skills.

In addition to working with children and adolescents individually, Sheri has a special interest in parenting and the parent-child relationship. She enjoys assisting caregivers to better understand their child’s emotional world, strengthen connection and communication, navigate challenging developmental stages, and build responsive and attuned parenting strategies. Sheri believes that these skills are invaluable in fostering secure, nurturing relationships that support long-term wellbeing.

Sheri is dedicated to helping families navigate challenges with confidence and to promoting the wellbeing and resilience of young people at every stage of development.

Sheri is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and provides services under Medicare.

Sheri works on Saturdays. She is currently accepting new clients.
